While completing my higher education in Madrid (Master and PhD) I have worked for several organizations in different cities and workplaces performing various functions and tasks. During this time I mainly worked, temporarily or in a fixed term contract, as a:

Beluga Ltd is an independent catering and events company. One of his clients is a prestigious think tank, The International Institute for Strategic Studies, which is headquartered at Arundel House, an elegant building located in Central London in front of the Thames river, where I was responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the company´s operations. Main functions:

• Social event planning
• Operations management
• Preparation and logistics
• Rental of conference rooms and services
• Customer relations and customer service
• Supplier negotiation
• Financial control and budget management
• Human resources management (hiring, personal evaluation, staff development and training, responsible for a team of up to 30 people)

I was promoted to General Manager in September 2008.

The Howard was a 5-star hotel located on the banks of the Thames in central London. The events department was headed by a Banqueting Manager and two supervisors who led a large team of temporary staff. Main functions:

• Assisting the Banqueting Manager in his duties
• Site preparation
• Execution of events

Since 1998 I have done several jobs at different workplaces and countries, that required different skill levels, which I have been able to combine with periods of training and education. The different jobs performed during this period helped me to the acquisition and development of important skills, including adaptation to change, time management, customer relations and teamwork. In addition, I had the opportunity to develop the ability to work under high levels of pressure, both physical and mental, and the capacity of adaptation and flexibility. Some of the jobs performed are:

• Banqueting Waiter at several 5 and 4 star hotels in Zaragoza, Edinburgh and London
• Several jobs at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in Norwich (2003)
• Chef Assistant at The Tun restaurant in Edinburgh (2002)
• Waiter in cruise ships around the Caribbean Sea
• Crew Member at McDonalds Restaurant and at Sainbury´s in Edinburgh (2001)
• Operator in several production lines in Zaragoza (1998-2002)
  
  

ASA is a small NGO located in Zaragoza that, among other activities, collaborates in the design and financing of development cooperation projects. Main functions:

• Project design, participating in the preparation of the technical application and project budget (technical and economic report)
• Project management, monitoring its development ensuring that the project evolves in accordance with the initial aplication
• Project coordination and communication with different agents outside the organization
• Project monitoring, reporting and evaluation
  

Tendiendo Puentes is a civil association linked to the Senior Management Program (PAD) of the University of Piura (Perú). Its aim is to generate bonds of understanding between the State , the private sector and indigenous communities in the Peruvian jungle to carry out development projects. Main functions:

• Researching and writing of a document which analyzes the conflict (“Baguazo”) between indigenous communities and State forces that took place at Bagua (small town situated in the Peruvian jungle) in 2009
• Site visits to conduct interviews with people involved in the conflict
  
  

Mundo M was a small NGO located in Madrid. I collaborated with them in the summer of 2012. Main duties:

• To look for cooperation projects in the Maputo province.
• To participate in the preparation of the technical application
  
  
  

The CITE is the Information Center for Foreign Workers of the Comisiones Obreras union. It proposes alternatives to defend the rights of the migrants workers and improve their living conditions. It is a free service of information, guidance and advice on administrative, labor and socio-cultural issues that may affect them. The objectives of the service are to avoid social and labor discrimination of immigrant workers and to achieve their full integration and the well-being of their families.
